127 | Church of St Andrews, High Holborn, a Guild (community) church was rebuilt after the Great Fire by Wren. It has been the site of worship for more than 1000 years. Destroyed completely in WW II, it has been rebuilt to exact Wren design. Handel played fundraising concerts here. Dickens mentions the church in Oliver Twist. It was the founding site of the Royal Free Hospital (now in Hampstead) |
